how it works
Capture it once. Find it forever.
Five steps, in the order they happen. Everything on this page is something the app does today.
One session, any way in.
Typing, voice, photos and links are not four features. They are one capture, and they file as one note.
Speak
Tap the disc and talk. The recorder then gets out of the way: while a take is running the instrument recedes and only the disc remains.
Type
A bare page, no box and no card. Type over a running recording, or type with the mic cold and save on its own.
Photograph
The camera opens straight away and the shot lands in the note you are already making. Take as many as you need.
Save a link
Paste a URL and it becomes a card carrying the page’s own title. Your phone fetches the page, not our servers, so nobody learns what you read.
Drag an image straight in
A screenshot, a photo from another app, a picture of a page in a book: drop it onto the note you are writing and it becomes part of that capture. No import step, no picker, no separate attachment screen. The same slot works whether the mic is running or the page is cold.
Dropped in. It joins the capture you already have open, and it is written up along with everything else in it.
The disc starts a capture and the disc ends it. If the app is closed or killed mid capture, the session is recovered when you come back: the words, the shots and the audio are all still there.
Written up, not transcribed.
The note is a summary: what was decided, what is owed, what is still open. The full transcript is kept beside it, not instead of it.
Your words stay yours
What you typed is kept verbatim beside the note, as an attachment. Rewriting the summary can never eat it.
Names, spelled your way
Correct a misspelt name once and every note after it is spelled the way you corrected it.
Regenerate it
Any note can be written up again from its own menu, and you can tell a topic how its notes should be written.
Filed, without you filing it.
Nobody curates their own library. Vasini reads the whole capture and files it, and you can always overrule it.
Topics are folders
A note can sit in two of them, because most thoughts do. Tap a topic on a note to take it off. One you chose yourself is never removed by the app.

When you create a topic, Vasini offers to look back through what you already captured and file what belongs in it.
Search reaches inside
Full text across notes and transcripts, including the text of a page you saved, so a phrase from the article finds the note.
Ask your own library.
A chat that knows your notes and nothing else. It is grounded in what you captured, so it answers from your own record rather than from the internet.
When the assistant wants to change something, retitle a note, move it, rewrite a summary, it does not just do it. It shows you exactly what would change and waits for you to accept or discard. The judgement stays yours; that is the whole design.
Writing a note up and answering in chat both cost credits, because both call a paid model. Recording and keeping notes do not.
It is your folder, not our database.
The library is plain Markdown, not a database. Export everything as a zip from the all notes screen, any time, without asking us: real files, in open formats, that any editor or agent can read. Once a day a copy also goes into your own iCloud Drive under your Apple ID, and you can turn that off in settings.
The Mac app is in development, and it changes this: you choose the folder yourself, so it is a normal folder in Finder from the day it ships, editable outside the app the way a note-taking tool like Obsidian works today.
the honest cost
Lose the phone with no backup and the library is gone. We cannot restore it, because we never had it.
Already have recordings elsewhere?
Import audio from any recorder, or send a file to Vasini from another app with the iOS share sheet. It is written up the same way and lands in the same library. Paste in text or a document and Vasini decides whether it is raw material to write up or a finished piece to keep as it is.
